this is the only mexican restaurant i eat at. being mexican i am spoiled by my abuelita's cooking so i have a hard time finding satisfactory mexican food when eating out, i'm always disappointed, but not at el hidalguense. the service is amazing and they give free flautas for appetizer and arroz con leche for dessert. i can not recommend this restaurant enough!
Excellent traditional Hidalgo style lamb, hand made tortillas are a must try, wait staff is really friendly and provide excellent service. The establishment is well kept if you live or are just visiting it's definitely a nice hidden gem in the Houston area
The menu it's self is impressive, they have plates I'd expect to see in an expensive restaurant IN MEXICO 🇲🇽 they can cook in this restaurant!!! You will not be disappointed with whatever you order, I got quesabirria, fajita ranchera and chicken flautas, the flautas have meat in em, like for real! If you like live music, they got it, the waitresses are attentive and nice, food definitely off the chart great!
